Inundated!
And, I’m not talking about the rainy season here! It’s the last week of the first Basic Thai Intensive course that I’m taking and they’ve hit us with a barrage of homework early in the week, so that I’m studying at the last minute and haven’t had a chance to update. Argh!
The State Railway of Thailand workers were on strike two days ago! Luckily service has resumed and I can travel, if need be, during my break next week! Can’t wait. I was hoping it wouldn’t turn out like the Suvarnabhumi airport sit-in last November through December. I had to reroute and spend 40 hours in New Delhi’s transit area where the only thing you can do is eat bad samosas and watch the lights intermittently go out. Needless to say, I will not forget that time…
Thinking of going to Nong Khai and then onwards to Laos. My 90-day visa needs to be restamped before August 19, so, might as well travel!

Speaking of which, I just learned the word for “travel” which is “duhn thaang” which literally translated is “walk” + “route” or “way”. I kinda like that! It takes the hi-tech out of traveling and gets to the core of why we travel; to go somewhere or to have an intentional route. Ah, wanderlust!
